Easy Trick Doughnuts for Busy Moms

Easy Trick Doughnuts for Busy Moms

Do you have young doughnut fanatics in your house? Would you like to let them feel like they’re being treated, but not give them all of the sugar and fat in regular doughnuts? Try Easy Trick Doughnuts and see if your kids like them as well as the fattier version.

If they don’t think they’re quite the same thing, point out how easy it is for the kids to make these doughnuts all by themselves, without waiting for anyone to go to the store. This is a great do-it-yourself snack for children and any friends who are visiting around snack time.

Easy Trick Doughnuts

Ingredients:

  • a bag of miniature bagels, wholegrain or any type your family likes
  • a frosting that your family likes
  • sprinkles

(Tip: If you don’t have any sprinkles in the house but you do have colored cereal – or if you just want to save money on buying sprinkles at the store – put a cup or two of colored cereal in a ziploc bag and smash it until it is sprinkly!)

(Second Tip: To soften bagels up a bit, dampen them with water before using them. Put them in the microwave for a few seconds at a time until they are softer.)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the bagels in half.
  2. Spread frosting on the cut sides.
  3. Shake sprinkles over the frosting.
  4. Presto!

Being a stay-at-home mom is a dream come true for me, made possible by my husband’s hard work. In the last few years, I’ve written articles for Natural Family Online and WeightCircles and advertising copy for Schogini Systems. I love reading, writing, running, and knitting, and always want to learn more about homemaking.
