Shiloah (shy-low-ah) Baker is the founder, owner of the Homemaking Cottage & Company, founded in 1998. She is a speaker, writer, mentor.
She is a thirty-something mom of eleven, married to Ben Baker, the man she’s madly in love with. She is a Christian and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Recently, they welcomed into their home, their newest daughter, Nicolette Eden-Celeste. Her first name is French meaning “Victory for the people!” With her middle names, her name means: “Victory for the people because of the Garden of Eden; Victory for the people to the Celestial Kingdom!” Nicolette has Trisomy 21 known as Down’s Syndrome.
After their beautiful daughter’s birth they decided to make this scripture the family’s motto:
“Shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, [Baker Family]; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing.” (D&C 128:22)
Of their eleven children, four have disabilities: one has Sensory Processing Disorder, a speech delay, and a processing disorder, another has autism, another has Aspergers, and now Down Syndrome. They rejoice in their differences and are always learning of healthy and natural ways to heal the body and mind holistically. Her eldest two children have or are serving missions for their church; Cailynn served in the Federal Way, Washington, USA Mission and Charisa is currently serving in England.
Shiloah enjoys being a mother and an homemaker and hopes to ignite the passion for this art/lifestyle for millions of women globally. She currently calls North Carolina home.
She is a lover of religion, life, classic books, children, red lipstick, jewelry, and beautiful things.
